At WHITE PINE LANDSCAPE & DESIGN we understand the importance of our role in the design of your landscape. We take the time to listen to your concerns and wish lists. We then incorporate them into a design which will meet your expectations. We work to ensure that our design results in a landscape which is an outdoor extension of your home.
The Design Process
The initial on site meeting is conducted on site and is approximately one hour in length. During the meeting we listen to and discuss your goals for the landscape in general terms. We also use this time to get a feel for your tastes and preferences. We view the landscape from inside and outside to get a sense of how the outdoor space will be used and how it will fit into the whole site. We also work together to prioritize a list of goals and objectives, and begin to define a preliminary budget.
Once you have decided to move forward with us, a thorough site review will be conducted. If available we will collect a property survey, which would include property lines, the location of the buildings etc. We will also take measurements of the site and existing features, such as plants, patios, decks etc. We will analyse soil conditions, sight lines, noise concerns, grades and other pertinent information will be recorded. This will allow us to prepare our base plan and begin our initial Concept drawing.
Based on the site characteristics, and your goals and objectives, two to three rough landscape concepts are developed including labels and broad descriptions of our initial ideas. We would then meet again to discuss and review the concepts, allowing for feedback that would lead to a final solution for the landscape. Based on the feedback and budget discussion, materials are chosen that are appropriate to the design and the budget. Once we have received approval we will prepare the final design drawing to scale, which shows the entire project, including all elements properly labelled, their location, size, and quantity. Depending on the scope of the project, several detailed drawing may be prepared to include information such as grading, and planting plans.
